The Showcase/Back to school event is one of the annual walk-run series organized by the sports office geared towards promoting the "Esprit De Corps." This event promotes a health lifestyle through recretation within the USAG community. There will be no cost to participants. Registration begins at 0900 and ends 0945, with the run starting at 1000. The first 80 people to register that are 18 years and older by 0945 will receive a free t-shirt.
Cost
There is no cost to participants.
Participants can have walkers, strollers, can be individual runners, unit teams, use a rucksack, and High Schoolers (to include JROTC).
Volunteers are needed and can contact the Katterbach Fitness Center.
Pets are allowed but must be on a leash.
Registration Information
Registration begins at 0900 and ends at 0945. Children under 13 years old must runn with their parents or guardians. 14-17 year olds can run on their own but must be signed in by a parent or guardian.
Every child and youth under 17 years old will receive a medal and there will be a drawing for childrent and youth participants at 1100 inside the Fitness Center.
Awards for the adult winners will be gifts cards for first, second, and third male and female runners. There will also be two more gift cards and MWR coupons raffled at the main showcase. These awards will be presented at 1100 inside the Fitness Center.
Parents with children enrolled in CYS and taking part in the Showcase/Back to school run will earn points towards a 10% fee reduction.
If soliders wish to participate as a unit, Unit Commanders must send the projected number of participants for their unit to the Sports Office NLT 24 Aug. COB. Soldiers participating as Units will receive only Commander's Cup Points.
There will be refreshments for all participants and all will be free.
