“Handball is coming to our community”

Note: This event has already passed.

Handball, also known as team handballEuropean handball or Olympic handball is played by two teams with six players plus a goalkeeper , who pass a ball with their hands, trying to throw it into the goal of the other team. A standard match lasts two periods of 30 minutes, and the team with the most goals wins.

This fast and high-scoring sport is usually played indoors. No protective equipment is required, but players may wear soft protective bands, pads and mouth guards.

The Ansbach MWR Sports branch is starting a handball intramural league, making it part of the garrison sports programs. All battalions are encouraged to have representatives in these evening handball playing clinics.

At the clinics, patrons will learn how to play the game from experienced TSV 1860 Ansbach Handball club coaching staff.

The handball clinic will take place every Wednesday evening starting May 11 - June 1 at Katterbach Fitness Center.
