Don't miss this fantastic Independence Day Celebration right here in the best hometown in Europe! This event will be held rain or shine on SATURDAY JULY 3RD, 2021 in front of the Katterbach Fitness Center. 

This event will be fun for all ages! Featuring a live performance by DJ Vision, minute to win it interactive games, activities for children and adults to include but not limited to, dunk-tank, climbing wall, arts and crafts, yard games, food and beer, Private Organizations and Soldier Family Readiness Group offerings!

The fireworks show begins at 10:30 p.m. and can be viewed from multiple areas around the Katterbach Airfield.

Open to all US ID cardholders and authorized guests. No entry fee. 

Restrictions: No coolers, no pets, no weapons and no outside beer or alcohol allowed in the event area.

The following rules apply to all visitors of the fest:

Different colored bracelets will be assigned at the entrance to the festival, depending on the vaccination status.

Anyone who is fully vaccinated has to show proof. This can be the German yellow vaccination certificate, the American CDC vaccination card, or an app on which the proof is clearly visible. It is then not necessary to wear a mask. Be sure to bring your vaccination card to declare yourself free from wearing a mask!

Anyone who has not yet been vaccinated needs a current negative rapid antigen test (not older than 48 hours). Despite the test, a mask must be worn, except when eating and drinking. No entry without a test!

  • Adolescents aged 12-18 who are not vaccinated need a test and mask.
  • Children from 7 to 11 years do not need a test, but a mask.
  • Children aged 6 and under do not need a test or mask.

Pre-registration only for green wristbands for fully vaccinated people are now available for pick up at the Katterbach Fitness Center, Post Office/Red Cross, and in the units. We encourage people to pre-register for the event to speed up access into the site.

Registration Information

The Ansbach workforce, both American and Local Nationals, along with their family members and friends, are encouraged to participate in the event to promote American hospitality and good relationships between the U.S. Army in Europe and our Host Nation. We will have a DJ, games and food booths culminating in fireworks to end the evening.

EASED ACCESS: To allow maximum participation, Army Garrison Ansbach will initiate an eased access policy for Katterbach Kaserne only, allowing each DoD cardholder or installation pass holder to bring up to four (4) individuals over the age of 16. Individuals under 16 do not count against the four.

SHUTTLE BUS SCHEDULE

Shuttle buses from Bleidorn and Urlas family housing areas as well as Shipton barracks, will be available. Entry to Katterbach will only be through the main gate.
