Ugly Christmas Sweater Virtual 5K

Put that UGLY sweater to good use this holiday season! Join the community with this year’s “Ugly Christmas Sweater Virtual 5K” hosted by the Katterbach Fitness Center! Through our virtual fun run, you can run (or walk) your 5K anytime during this 4-day event and be eligible to win prizes… including one for the “Best Ugly Christmas Sweater”! Included in the registration fee is our idea of an ugly Christmas sweater design… on a shirt!

Registration Dates: 01 – 21 December
*Participants must register at the Katterbach Fitness Center to be eligible for prizes. Must be US ID Cardholder of the USAG Ansbach Community

Virtual Run Dates: 18-21 December
*Participants can pick their 5K route and run it on any day/time they choose. Results must be posted on the Katterbach Fitness Center Facebook Event page.

Participation categories for prizes:
- Fastest Male = “Merry Fit’mas Games 2020” T-shirt
- Fastest Female = “Merry Fit’mas Games 2020” T-shirt
- Fastest Family Time (Average) = $25 AAFES Gift Card
- Best Ugly Christmas Sweater = $25 AAFES Gift Card

Prizes: Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded via the Katterbach Fitness Center Facebook page on Tuesday, 22 December.

Where can you run or walk? Anywhere! This is a virtual run and we want you to complete it wherever you want. Participation is free and open to all US ID Cardholders of USAG Ansbach. Safety restrictions and Physical Distancing guidelines must be followed at all times. *If there are unsafe weather conditions for running/walking outside, participants are encouraged to track miles on a treadmill or elliptical. Proof of completing your run/walk can be a screenshot of your GPS app such as Runtastic, RunKeeper, Strava, Map My Run, etc. or a picture of the distance on your treadmill/elliptical. Post your pictures on the Katterbach Fitness Center’s Facebook Event “Ugly Christmas Sweater Virtual 5K”.
