Volunteer Appreciation Week

Volunteers: The Heart of the Army Community!

#
Note: This event has already passed.

National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of volunteer service. This year’s volunteer theme is “Volunteers: The Heart of the Army Community.” Although our Volunteer Recognition Ceremony has been postponed for a date TBD, we will still take the time during National Volunteer Week to say "thank you" and to highlight the contributions of our outstanding installation volunteers!

America’s military members and their families have always volunteered in their churches, schools and communities.  Any volunteer action, no matter how big or small, can affect positive change on an entire community.

  • Some benefits of volunteering:
    • Helps one live a healthy, fulfilling and meaningful life
    • Renews connection to our community and builds self-worth and social responsibility in our children
    • It creates stronger families and stronger communities
    • It brings people from all walks of life together to unite for the good of one cause
    • Provides people with the possibility to learn and enhance work skills, personal values, and good old-fashioned teamwork
