About Us

The award-winning Terrace Playhouse provides music and theatre activities that support the entire United States Army Garrison, Ansbach, Germany, by performing award-winning productions by community members for community members! 

Our goals are:

TO IMPROVE AND ENRICH quality of life for all members of our military community through the production of well-rounded music and theatre activities.

TO SUPPORT military readiness by increasing morale, welfare and recreation.

TO FOSTER positive community relations, esprit de corps and civic responsibility through all aspects of the program.

TO ENCOURAGE social awareness.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Terrace Playhouse.  Without volunteers donating their time, we could not offer high quality theatre to the Ansbach community. It’s fun, it’s creative, it’s rewarding!!!

If you like to organize things, work with people, or just want to be involved in a dynamic community program, we need you!  No experience is necessary – just a desire to have fun and help put on a show!

Volunteer Positions:

Onstage

  • Actor: Perform roles in dramas, comedies, or musicals
  • Singer: Perform in musicals and concert format productions
  • Dancer: Perform in musicals and recitals

 

Backstage

  • Director:  Coach actors and stage the production
  • Assistant Director: Run rehearsals with Director
  • Stage Manager: Supervise cast during the show
  • Musical Director: Rehearse and conduct singers and musicians in musical productions
  • Choreographer: Create dance numbers in musical productions
  • Stage Manager: Supervise the cast during the show
  • Costumes: Create/find costumes
  • Lighting/Sound: Run light & sound systems during the show
  • Makeup/Hair: Help actors with makeup & hair
  • Orchestra: Perform as musician in musical productions
  • Props: Find/coordinate props (perfect for those who like garage sales & antique stores!)
  • Set Construction: Build sets
  • Set Design: Paint & decorate set
  • Stage Crew: Help run the show

 

Show Days

  • House Manager: Manage the house staff and greet audience members
  • Usher: Hand out programs & help seat patrons
  • Concessions: Assist staff with refreshments during intermission

 

Off Stage

  • Photography: Take publicity pictures & publicity stills
  • Poster Distribution: Hang posters around community
  • Volunteer Coordinator: Call & schedule volunteers
  • Housekeeping:  Tidy up lobby and theatre
