The Katterbach Fitness Center will hold a Murph Challenge in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "BodyArmor". From here on it has been refined to as "Murph" in honor of this focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country.

The Murph Challenge is comprised of: 1 mile Run, Pull-ups, Push-ups, and Squats.

Furthermore, participants may select the following categories:

  • Alpha with (Rx-20lb)
  • Bravo (Scaled)
  • Charlie (Scaled)

Event itinerary:

  • 1000-1030: Briefing, Check-in and T-Shirt pick-up

  • 1030: Murph Fitness Challenge starts

  • 1230: Award Ceremony

  • 1245: End of Event

Meddas awared to male and female winners in all categories.

The Murph Fitness Challenge is part of the 2019 STRONG B.A.N.D.S Program. Each participant will receive a STRONG B.A.N.D.S. arm wrist band. Two (2) T-Shirts will be won through a drawing as well.

Cost

$20.00 per participant. Cash, debit and credit cards accepted.

Register at Katterbach Fitness Center.

The challenge is limited to the first 30 participants, and closes on Friday, 10 May.

Fees include specially designed "Murph" T-Shirt.
